My condolences. There are pros and cons no matter where you live....hopefully the pros outweigh the cons. In the desert southwest I can drive all-year long and winter is the prime driving season. The flipside is during the hot summer months unless you drive early in the morning or after sunset you really don't feel like driving around much. It all balances out. Maybe put your car's downtime to good use and do something to it you've always wanted to do.
Yup, I feel your pain. My 2 car garage is packed with a Corvette, a BMW convertible, 2 motorcycles and a Sears Craftsman snow blower. Guess which one I'm taking out today ?
We live here in Western New York, right in the snow belt off of lake Erie. I was born and raised here and hate the weather and the way New York state is run more every year! We can't move as the wife is a retired teacher from here in New York and if we did they would tax the hell out of us. So we go south for the winter and the wife is nice enough to let me ship the vette south for the last couple of years!
I used mine last night to go to a Christmas tree lighting, Hershey, PA. Today; snow, ice and tomorrow, rain. Hopefully all clear for next weekend, we will see. My car is always ready to go.
I feel your pain I was stuck in the house yesterday with the AC on in Clearwater, Fl. /At least I can drive to and from work with the windows down. Presently 83 degrees at work, car is under a carport protecting it from the sun.
Yeah, I'm from Cold Hell Minnesota, too. I'm a 62 year-old native and I deplore this climate more every year. Winter hit with such ferocity this year that I think I'm actually getting depressed -- for real. High taxes and low temps create a pretty crappy environment.
(My Vette has been 'snoozin' since early November.)
Time to move south where you can enjoy year around corvette top down weather.
I grew up in St Louis Park in the Minneapolis area, drove corvettes for 22 years of the time I lived there and drove all of them year around back then. I finally got so fed up with the weather, high taxes and utility bills that I moved my family to Tucson when I was 39 years old and never regretted it for a day. I have been in Tucson for 30 years now and I'm now on my 25th vette and still driving them every day of the year.
