Default Self Tune Question

Hi,

I'm installing a VMAX throttle body, BBK intake, and was wondering if there is a company that sells canned tunes. I know Summit Racing sells the cable for 125.00 and about 500.00 for the tune files. They have software that allows a user to plug into the car's computer with a laptop to install their tune files. This is mostly for headers. Is there anyone else that sells a tuning kit with files that are known to work? I would like to have the option of removing the tune if I decide to bring the car in for any major repairs so it doesn't void my warranty.

If you tune your car, your warranty will be void by most dealerships. Even if you put it back to stock, the tune can be detected. There are several places you can order tunes from.

I was told if that the dealer has to be looking for it and that they will only see that the computer was flashed. Another dealership could have flashed it because I complained of poor gas mileage. Can u suggest a self tune.

I bought an extra PCM to use for flashes, etc. My OEM is safely tucked away. Not too much time to swap them out.

where are you located? at most any dealer any tune (hand held, laptop based any tune) will void warranty. i would find a good shop in your area have it custom dyno tuned $450 - $550 most anywhere in the country and if you have to take it to the dealer they can flash it to stock if you want. and shouldnt charge anything even to reload the tune after the dealer is done.
