Hi. I have been away from Vettes since 2001, and am trying to catch up on my familiarity with the C6. Can anyone recommend any good reading, literature to help me get educated (aside from this forum, of course). Thanks for any suggestions. By the way, I have read and re-read the Black Book about 74 million times, so some of my "lost knowledge" is coming back, but I am particularly weak on C6, which I hope to buy as my 9th Vette in the next year or so.
I bought my very first Vette, a '13 427, and this forum has been the greatest source of technical knowledge, and influenced my decision. There are some really thoroughly knowledgeable people on this forum. I also subscribe to Vette magazine which was also recommended on this forum.

Thank you!! I am learning my way around the forum. No mater what particular interest I have, or had, I found that the forums are an excellent source of information, and very importantly, the forum members have always neen most helpful and willing to share. I have had Corvettes in my blood since I was 12 years old when my Grandfather bought me my first real bike- a Schwinn Corvette. I read all the Black Tiger books- a set of stories about the racing world, theBlack Tiger being the car that is the hero of the stories. And to make matters worse, my 8th grade music teacher gave me a ride to school in his 1960 red Vette. I have owned 8 Vettes, and now that I am retired and have the time to spend, I am getting back into thin gs.
Again, thank you for your help. I hope to be able to return the favor some day, but for now my knowledge is about the C4 and C5 generations.

If you can read and understand everything in here - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ok-inside.html - you will know more than 99.9% of the people here. If you still want more then the next step is the shop manual from helminc.com (forum vendors sometimes have it cheaper than directly from Helm). My set for 2007 (they are all about the same) is 4,702 pages in 3 volumes. I always buy a Helm manual when I buy a new car. Best investment you can make to reduce repair costs.

Good advice. I always buy the shop manual for my cars- and find it valuable. Some people don't understand the need for buying a 60K car and then unscrewing it for fun. Once I decide what year C6 I am going to hunt down I will buy the manuals in advance. Thank you for taking the time to help.

Great story, particularly the ride in the 60's red Vette! Welcome back!

Thank you. I would be willing to bet (I am not a gambler- just an expression) that every Vette Head has a similar story that started him or her down the wonderful path of these cars. Almost by definition every Vette ever built is a collector's car.

I had to do the same thing recently...I Googled all the reviews for the car for the year I purchased and all the major writers/magazine articles came up...Wikipedia has a nice lineage to read about for the Vette..
