Yep. As long as you have an LS3 and unless you've changed something exhaust wise.

no.car is off the road for the winter.just checking other avenues.now I am thinking of getting another stock midpipe and cut it off and reduce the 3 inch mid pipe to it.this way I can keep my stock exhaust if I ever want to return it back to stock since my car is a centennial car and I can do all cutting and welding with the car on the ground.then it will be a straight bolt on.will probally sell the zo6 mufflers.have not decided yet.something like this, but I will cut the midpipe farther back towards the y.

huh? what are you trying to do? put z06 mufflers on your 06 auto trans base c6? why? if just for the dual volume valves find a set of 2.5'' npp mufflers. they made them in 08 which will directly bolt to your stock 06 h pipe or get a x-pipe from a 09+ and the npp mufflers from 09+. its alot easier to find 09-13 npp mufflers obvisouly.

i have pfadt headers on my car with 09+ x pipe high flow cats and a set of npp mufflers from 2011 with the valves wide open all the time i love it. sounds great.

If you're going to do that hack job, then sh*t can the whole idea. You're just wasting your time and costing yourself power without a tune (Ref: Bud Miller who used a LS3 mid-pipe and needed a tune to address a significant loss of mid-range torque.)

LS7 Manifolds
LS7 Cats
LS7 mid-pipe
LS7 mufflers or 3" to 2.5" reducer and use your 2.5" NPP system which with an A6 makes it a total bolt in.

The only things you have to worry about clearing the A6 in your car are the LS7 over axle MUFFLER pipes if you use the LS7 MUFFLERS. ANY DECENT muffler shop can mod (aka DIMPLE) the muffler pipes to fit. If you don't want any pipes dimpled, put the damn reducers on the LS7 midpipe and use your stock UNMODIFIED NPP mufflers.

In this pic you can see the end of the midpipe is welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll before where there is any interference with the transmission.

where do you install the reducers to make it a bolt on install with this configuration?like I said I have zo6 mufflers off a 2008.right now I have a diablo tune in the car.i have read both ways to do it,keep my mufflers and reduce or go with z06 mufflers.if I go with the z06 mufflers I will do the muffler mod.

You install the reducer on the 3" Z midpipe. The 2.5" NPP mufflers slip right into place. As always when hacking parts together, you should mock it up during the install to make sure the length of the midpipe with the reducer is correct. Worst case you may have to chop an inch or so off the midpipe before welding the reducer in place.

Sorry, but based on your continuing questions....
- Install everything but the mufflers. The midpipe will be secure via the studs/nuts to the cats and it has an aft hanger.
- Drive the car to a shop (obviously coordinate in advance). Yes it'll be loud but tolerable due to the cats
- Give the shop the Z06 mufflers (which tuck nicely in the cargo area with some towels to protect everything), and the hangers and tell the shop to install them
- They will dimple the over-axle pipes as needed and have the car done in an hour and for probably less than $150.

$60k+ car and you're hand-wringing over pennies by your refusal to take it to a place that knows what they're doing.

I getting ready to get in my car and drive over and do it myself. Where are you located? I'm currently in SoCal.

thanks for all the detailed help.it has nothing to do with the money.there is nobody I trust period.my friend brought his z06 to the chevy dealer and they cracked the bottom panel and put 2 holes in the floor.the reason I am asking so many questions is because I want to be sure about this before I start.if their were pics of a auto tranny install like the 1 you did with all the details and pics of the mid pipe back it would make it easier for me to show to a shop to see what they had to do and if they could handle it without out screwing up my $70k car.i live in Rochester ny and their are no speed shops here.i really do not want some $10 an hour midias muffler guy hacking up my car,or worse.thanks for the offer to drive it over but I do not think you would not like it here today 14 degrees LOL.i wish I was in socal right now.

Just don't go nuts and drive 100 miles lol If you really wanted to play it safe, buy a cheapie set of turn-downs that use a slip fit.

All the details will be the same, it's just a matter of where to dimple the pipes....and you really need to see that in 3D. Pic won't do much good.
