Question (the better evil)
I have a 2009 stock C6.
Everyone knows how bad ethanol is for the whole fuel system.
Ethanol 10% ...now they want to do 15%.
My question is, my recommended octane is 91 for the C6
Here in South Florida, I can get real pure (no ethanol) gas at 90
octane.
Would you use 90 octane real gas or 91 octane 10% ethanol?
Currently use 93 octane ethanol, but the car sits a lot and I know
it separates and does damage.
What's the better of the two evils?

Safety Car
I don't drive my vert much during the week because I use a company car for work, so I generally only put 10 gallons of gas in at a time so I use up what ever is in the tanks each week. The car is designed to operate on 10% ethanol so you should not have a problem unless you let the car sit for a a long time (probably over a month). If you really want to get ethanol free gas go to a local marina and get your fuel from the same pump they use to fuel the boats.

Monterey Rd, and folks are buying it 'cause it's cheaper.
...And it's a proven fact that 15 will destroy your car.

I use pure gas for my Harley, Hemi and now Corvette. The only time I don't is if it is not available during a long trip but if I plan it out, I can usually find it along the route.

I actually went back to be sure I was in the C6 section. Ethanol will NOT harm your car in any way, shape, fashion, or form!!!
Geez, ALL cars and trucks have been designed to use ethanol blends for years.
It makes no difference whether you drive it a little or drive it a lot, ethanol will not harm your car.
If you are concerned with moisture absorption while sitting for long periods add a can of dry-gas. Stabil is a popular brand and people have been using it for years, even before ethanol.
If you want to use pure gas, with a lower octane, go right ahead. Ask a tuner how much time your computer will be pulling timing because of the lower octane (and in Fla the higher IATs) and see if you can live with the lower performance.
Just, PLEASE, stop spreading stupid rumors/lies on here about ethanol.

OTOH, E15 is a different story and I certainly wouldn't use it unless GM gives approval.
