I brought home a previously enjoyed 2011 Silver 1LT Grand Sport (4,000 miles on it) last night!
I just read a few other posts from folks that basically paid the same as I did, but got 2 and 3 LT. At first I thought I did not get as good of a deal, but then I remembered 2 things:
1. I got several thousand over book value for my trade-in. They held fast on the asking price, but compensated on the trade-in. So overall, I still think I got a good price.
2. There is a 2011 Grand Sport in my garage. That is all I care about at this point!
Those of you that have read my posts on the C5 and C1/2 forum know I sold my 2004 Z06 last year because my back was hurting very badly in the C5. I thought it was because of the low nature of the seats. So I bought a Cadillac SRX to be comfortable. It turns out the seat in the C5 was not the problem. My back just plain hurts in the Cadillac also. So last month, I decided to rectify my mistake and get back into a Corvette. If my back is going to hurt anyway, it might as well hurt in a Corvette instead of a Cadillac!
Selling that C5 was a mistake that cost me big bucks, but at least I have a Corvette again.
Congratulation and welcome to the C6 world. As for the price, we all know that it is a numbers game they ply. They try and make you feel good by dropping the asking price of given you more for your trade then the book says it is worth. I also shop on the internet before buying. I know what I want to pay and what I want to pay a month and that is the bottom line. As long as I meet the overall monthly payments based on the time I want to carry teh loan, then I really don't care what they say they are give mo on my trade or what the final price is on the car. We all know that no matter how much haggling we do, they are still making a profit.
That vette is beautiful. With those low miles, you basically just bought a new car! Silver is "The Machine" color...looks great!
Sorry to hear about your back. I kept going to the doctor for a year, they sent me to a physical therapist, "do your stretches", blah blah. Finally they did the bucks-up MRI and immediately found an easy problem that surgery fixed. Within a short time I was pain free and have been for over a year now. Just a little success story there to encourage you to aggressively find the reason for your pain. It can take over your life and make you do crazy things. (like sell a vettte)
