If the driveway is wide enough to enter at a high angle, it is almost always possible to avoid scraping. If you think of entering straight as 0 degrees, try coming at it at more than 45 degrees until both front wheels are on the driveway, then turn straight into it.
hmmm...I dunno . I gather you haven't had any issues with high temps in the hot summer months but the air dams on most cars help direct to the radiator to assist with cooling. not sure about the vette tho. but I'm sure gm put it there for a reason...what that reason is I'm not sure of.
No Sir:In the summer months we have temps over 100 degrees for months & my vette runs in the mid 190s & in traffic it will go to 205 or so.If you have the June issue of Car and Driver mag. GM said that they made a change on the C7 because the design on the C6s didn't work that well..? There are some guys on this forum that removed them & did not see a temp change...
The air dam is a wear item. The Owner's Manual even says so. It's $100 or so to replace it. Given all that, why do so many Vette owners go to great trouble or expense to "fix" it? I don't get it.
.........you hit the nail on the head..........
Mine scrapes all the time while traversing my driveway entrance and I don't lose a minutes sleep over it. It's an expendable piece that costs less than $100.00 to replace when bought from our superb venders here on the forum.

The corner 2 are easy to replace, but the center one you have to use ramps or a jack..PITA......

Reason: change
I scrape my gs when I go into my folks driveway (once a week) and it kills me, but I'm not leaving it on the street. When I inspected it, it wasn't damaged so I keep doing it.
I keep mine at a cottage up north and the short gravel road leading up to it has ruts six inches deep because of the garbage truck. I have to prepare the road with a rake and shovel each time so the gs won't plow the gravel too deep. Folks there think I'm real charitable and wave while I work, LOL!
listening to my under spoiler being ground up on the dip at the bottom of my driveway.....I have tried hunks of plywood, even built up a couple of pieces using my amateur hwy engineering skills to try and lift the front end enough as I backed out...but to no avail....just have to get used to the noise of it being slowly scraped up.....ah well, small price to pay for such a great vehicle.....
Yeah mine scrapes all the time as well.... found that if you back out on an angle as much as possible it's a lot better
