Default TPMS replacement

Looking for help, links for replacing TPMS on an 07 Z51.
From what I can gather, seven years is a long time for the sensors.
Is it the case they can be rebuilt/serviced or is replacement called for ?

If replacement, how ?

Any, all help, clues, hints, welcome..........

Unless you are having problems you shouldn't need to replace them yet. Supposed to last at least ten years and my 10+ year old vette didn't need new ones. If, or when, you change tires that would be an ideal time since the sensors will be exposed. They are part of the tire stem. They are not meant to be serviced and should be replaced.

Tire Rack has them for $150 a set. Then all you need to do is syc them to the car.

I'm not getting any readings from any of the sensors and I have the yellow tire icon continuously illuminated. I'm no mechanic, but methinks this means the sensors or out- am I'm off base ?

So far as installation goes, how ?
Yeah- I'm that clueless...........

Jut have the tire shop replace them, it's just like installing a valve stem.
they can also program them to the car. I have a tool to do it so I usually do my own when I have changed sensors.

Wait, all four are not showing any readings? Those are, at most, eight year old sensors ('06 model year car built in mid-'05). I would think they should still work. If all four are out, I would think something else is going on. Dave, what do you think (mcandrews)?

Maybe try to reprogram them first if they are all out.

I have had to replace two of them already on my 2006. I think the other two are getting weak. They are hard to trigger when programming then.

Could be someone put new in and didn't program correctly, could be that there is none in there at all, or could be bad sensors.
First thing I would do it try to reprogram, if not then I would have tire place look and see if there is even a sensor in there.
Then I would maybe get a sensor and see if it will program to the car prior to installing. If it beeps and registers then it is probably ok to install them.

Yep, the battery runs down after roughly 8 to 12 years.

I'm sure it is possible to replace the battery, but not worth the trouble IMHO.

I replaced all four last year on my '06 because one started reporting a flat tire intermittently. When you get replacements, make sure you get Schrader or GM OEM -they are made by Schrader. Some shops are using cheaper brands that may be a problem. Trust me on this one - I know!

I've seen the same reports from other members here.

I have three sets of tires and wheels. Two sets have sensors from the Tire Rack. Not sure if they are the good ones or the cheap one, but I have had no issues with them.

I have two complete sets of wheels and tires that i swap back and forth on our 2005. I bought the unit for programming the TPMS sensors to the computer. It takes about a minute to do all four wheels. They are 8-9 years old and still working fine........so far.

Did this happen all at once? Did it happen after you changed tires or wheels? It is highly unlikely that all four sensors died at the same time. Mine is an '07 with 65,000 miles and all four sensors work fine so I doubt all batteries are dead. My bet is that they are not programmed to the car for some reason. Were they working one day and then just stopped the next day???

This is usually the way they start going bad..not all four at the same time just stopping.
