Today I opened the door of my car in the garage and the chimes started going off. I got in and closed the door and they quit. I opened the door again and they once again started. I have the doors set to lock automatically. I had one fob in my pocket. The other fob was in the house. Once I started the car, everything went back to normal. I asked the Chevy dealer about it and they did not a clue. It's the first time that it's happened in the year I have owned this car. It's not really a big deal but I wondered if anyone else has encountered this problem and why it may have occurred.
There are different opinions about this, but a popular one and what I 've noticed is:
If I leave the car and it autolocks, then I come back and open it again but don't start the engine, the next time I open the door the chime will begin immediately.
