Default TPMS - DIC Issues

DIC said right front tire was about 3 pounds low so I added some air to it. Drove a couple of miles then got a warning the left front tire had high air pressure. Got out the old fashioned gauge and the right front tire (passenger side) read 43 psi.

Anyone else have an issue with the TPMS display not reading the correct side properly?

Sounds like the sensors are switched. Do the relearn procedure...

Thanks, Didn't realize we could do that.

Instructions in the owners manual?

My car is a daily driver. :-)

This morning I was out with the car and after letting it set in the cold (2 degrees) I came out started it and low pressure light came on. I tried moving the car, and resetting it, and turned it off and recycled it again and it still displayed 3 lbs. down. After driving for about ten minutes at highways speed it went off.

Just cold I suspect. This is Michigan and we are in a cold spurt.

That could work if he has had the wheels switched for some reason. If not, perhaps something else is going on.

I have an electronic tool to do it. The procedure should be in the owners manual under something like TPMS Relearn procedure.

Each sensor transmits either on a dirrerent frequency or has some identifier it transmits. The main computer knows which sensor is where. So if you switch tires from side to side the computer has to releaen where the sensors are or else it will say right front tire low, but the sensor is now at the left front. You fill the right front and it will will be overfilled.

Most tire shops or dealers can do this.

Never switched tires, bought the car new.
No biggie, I just adjusted all the pressures using a gauge and everything is fine. When ever it needs a trip to the dealer will have them reprogrammed since there is nothing in the owners manual.

It would appear to me that someone has switched the tires left to right at some point. I have one of those reprogramming tools and it takes all of about one minute to reprogramme the sensors.

My brand new 2013 came with the TPMS sensors programmed to the wrong tires.
Others have posted the same experience.

Yep same here - 13GS directional tires so the dealer had to relearn. Tried telling me I did it!! Usual dealer bs adds insult to GM's non existent quality control. Take it to any chevy dealer and have em correct it.
