Buy the newest, lowest mileage one you can comfortably afford.

Welcome. Buy the newest you can afford. 2008 was a nice improvement year.
Want a wide model? Base? Z model?

I was thinking a base 2008. My max price is probably 35k or so.

You should be able to get a nice low mileage 08 for low 30's. Good luck

What would you say is a good mileage to try to stay under?

Can you expand a little more....I know about the engine revisions, carbon fiber inserts....what other improvements were made? I am in the market as well.

Edit, cancel as I realized the search engine works

Mid $30's sounds about right for an '08 but it also depends on what you are looking for. There are 09's and 10's out there that are base 1 or 2 LT's that can be had for around the same $$'s.

Be particular there are plenty of used C6's out there to choose from. Happy hunting keep us posted.

I agree with everyone... get yourself in a 2008 or newer. Lots of changes for the 08 model, more ponies. Good luck and don't sweat it. Whatever you pick your going to love it.

There's this book called "Corvette Black Book", by Mike Antonick. Don't even think about deciding on a particular year until you get it. It goes through all vettes year by year and describes each model year change in detail.

I'm still thinking about thinking about upgrading to a C6. My research thus far has me eliminating everything prior to 2008. I'd love to get a 2010+ GS, but not sure my budget will approve.

Let us know what you decide, and good luck in your search.

For $32-35K you should be able to get an '08 with less than 25K miles,
3LT, NAV, NPP, and Mag Ride...

I wouldn't worry too much about milage, however. Just try to find a car that was well cared for. Would most likely need tires, in that milage range, if they weren't already replaced.

Good Luck,

I had the same decision when I bought my used C6. I knew I wanted another convertible and I liked Jet Stream Blue. I looked for quite a while but found a 2008 6 sp. 3lt with 5000 mi. and NPP. It's a non Z51 car. I love this car. My 04 C5 was a great car as well, but this car is even nicer.
Decide on the model, color, transmission, accessories, and then enjoy the search. There are some beautiful used Corvettes out there. Let us know maybe we can even help you find one.

Everyone says go for 08 or newer and I can understand that. Big improvements in the LS3. However the LS2 is no grannie car. and you can find those at a bit lower price point which will leave you some budget room for when MOD fever starts to kick in. Lots of cool fun mods that you can have a great time doing on a Vette. Have fun in your search and take your time. Now may be a good time cause prices may be a bit low still. They do go up a bit in the spring when warm weather hits. Good Luck.

For $35K you can get a base 1LT 2012 with <5K miles. For a few grand more you may even find a new '12 leftover.

Where are you guys finding these deals? I search the used C6 section all the time and I have never seen 2012s for 35K.
