I am having a strange issue with my driver door. When I open or close the door it seems like the window gets caught on the trim right where that corner/angled piece is. This causes snag of the glass when I open the door which you can kind of hear. When you close the door it seems that the glass has to fight its way past the trim. It is not making any marks nor does it seem to be causing any sort of problems, but my passenger door does not do this.
I know the first thing people are going to say is to reindex the window. I assure you I have tried this process countless times with no fix to my issue. It is also not my battery as I have checked that as well.
I was hoping that someone here might have also had this problem and could shed some light on it.
I appreciate any help. Might just be something I have to live with.
The window is dropping. It appears maybe just a tad not enough. It kind of popps out of the trim area, if that makes sense. I have followed procedure to reindex the window countless times hoping it would fix it.
Yep, your window is not adjusted properly. Mine also hits the top of the window rail (on the top), and if I don't momentarily hit the window switch to lower it a hair, it grinds against one of the screws that hold the channel in place. Since the window travels up more than it should, when the window indexes down, it's not enough to clear the channel. Mine barely clears it, meaning yours is probably misadjusted front to back as well. The crappy build quality on these cars is ridiculous. Not a huge deal, but I have a ton of nagging issues like that, which prompts the question: What the hell do QC guys do at the plant... if any . If you don't feel like tackling the issue yourself, take it to a reputable dealer with a master Vette tech. Good luck man.
