Hello all! I purchased a 2011 Z06 back in Sept 2013 from the original owner and the car has a keyed lugnut. At first I figured this was just stock and I would find the socket in the car. Well, evidently it is not and the original owner states that the lugnut came from the dealership. I called the dealership and they were of no help. Does anyone have ideas about removing this nut? Thank you all for your time!
I would send them a pic of the wheel nut and see if they will sell you a key.
If not, then you could get the inside pattern squared up using a pencil grinder, then remove with a socket.
I'm not sure if this is of any help, but it's something to think about.
I'm sure lot's will chime in with better info for you.

I ran into the same situation a few years back. local dealer here Cliff Mills Pontiac GMC were kind enough to lend me their set of master keys to take home to get flat tire off car. check with different dealers to see if you can find one with set of master key's.with the kit you can identify the key and order a replacement.
Do you have a flat or can you drive it? If you can drive it, shouldn't any tire place worth its salt be able to remove it for you? I'm sure they see it a lot. Good Luck.

mechanics usually have a set of these keys in their tool collection. most all tire places have them. might be hard to buy just the key without the lugnuts though. the set mechanics buy come with keys for all known types of locks and are very expensive.
Get your self a new set of locks if you want them, or just 4 new stock nuts.
Go to your local tire shop. They will have a remover, but it will ruin the locks.
My current truck came with them stock, but they were just McGuard locks.
They are not on the truck now, too much hassle, and like the others say, too easy for a thief anyway.
I think the only thing that might deter a thief is a full set of 20 locks!
Thank you all for the suggestions. I will try the tire dealers first as I would like to do minimal damage if possible. I would like to get the stock nuts put back on when I get these off. Does anyone have a part number for those? Are they the same for all vettes? Thanks again!
If a tire shop cannot help you can try what I had to do years ago when I experienced a damaged keyed lug, we welded a large bolt to the lug and was able to get it loose with vice grips. Just make sure to protect the rim before welding.

Look, just hammer a slightly smaller 12 point socket on it and be done in a few minutes as stated above.
Took my CTS4 to dealer for a tire rotatation.
Didn't learn til' later the tire guy forgot to put the 'key' back in car once completed.
Was PO'd, called dealer & told them their people forgot to replace key.
They were very apoligetic, said bring the car in and they'll replace all the locking nuts, no charge. They claimed a replacement's not available.
Appartently GM used different types of sets, at least w/ Cadillac although betting the same's true w/ Chevrolet. My dealer claims they don't stock just the keys so if/when a key's lost all four must be replaced.
The thought I could've had a flat & been SOL because of some imbucile's forgetfulness still grinds my beans.
Had the same thing happen with my 2013 Grand Sport, got the car home and no key for the locks. Dealer shrugged his shoulders and said the car came from the factory with the locks,I called Cheverolet and they said the dealer put them on. Took a hammer and a sightly oversized socket and tapped the socket onto the lock and used a braker bar to turn it off less than 2 minutes per wheel and no damages.Locks are useless if someone wants your wheels/

yea mechinics have a key, it's called a nut off and it will render the locking lug nut useless, locking lug nuts have a certain pattern lose the key and the code and you have to break them off. they don't sell master sets!!!! no big problem go to any tire shop. it would be nice if half of you had a clue of anything automotive!

if you knew anything at all you would know that they sell nicely packaged sets of master keys in a nice molded plastic holder to hold all the keys
go to a tire store (big 10 - tire engineers- NTW type) they sometimes have a set of sockets that act like a reverse EZ Out, they drive it on the od of the lug and it bites in reverse and lug will come right off.
