For all the garage queens out there; it's not so much the battery, it's dedicated use of a maintainer/tender. For these ladies buy the least expensive big box store battery with the longest no charge replacement warranty and you shouldn't be out of pocket for at least 3 years even if it all goes to s**t.
<----By the way, I put a Delco professional in my '90 in 2000 and it was still going strong when I sold it 2013. Always used a tender year round.
I'm amazed at how much a battery tender helps the longevity of a battery. In WI I learned with my bikes how long it keeps it strong. 4 years out of a motorcycle battery with all that bouncing around and plates maybe moving and I replaced it. When I exchanged it for a new one the guy tested it and it still had awesome cold cranking amps!
The Vette sits like the bikes do so I'm hoping a battery is a battery and I have the same good fortune.
I, also, use my Battery Tender all the time. Sometimes (like now) the car sits for three months. Sometimes, it sits for an hour. I hook up the tender every time I park it regardless.
That could have a lot to do with why I got 7 years on the OEM battery. There really wasn't anything wrong with it when I replaced it, but I thought 7 was enough.
Also, I should point out that I have the little itty bitty battery in the trunk.
I went with an XS Power D3400. It's quite heavy, but I'm in the process of upgrading to 2KW of audio equipment, so I felt it was worth it. I had a D6500 in my last vehicle and it was a champ. they're expensive, but imo they're the best batteries you can get.

Maintainers definitely help but when a battery decides it's over.....it's over!
As I indicated in a previous thread, I replaced my '08 battery about 4 months ago. I entertained all the choices others have mentioned, but elected the OEM AC replacement from the dealer.
My thought......if the OEM lasted 5+ years in a garage queen with NO regular charging assistance, why change.
Paid $105.00 exchanged at Trade Net (discounted). I believe the over the counter price would have been $135-$140 exchanged. It has a 3 year non prorated replacement guaranty (was advised to save the receipt).
It's probably a 15 minute exercise to replace and 5 minutes to re-index the windows.
This is the info I was looking for. The choices for my 2007 battery replacement were very small and none of the options included very high end batteries. Optima doesn't even have an application for the '07 Vette! Now I know why. When checking for an Optima for the '08 Vette, they have them! The answer is to change the battery tray to the smaller one, and the options for batteries changes significantly. That is my plan. The smaller tray is listing for under $10 on several websites although they want as much for shipping... Will call my Chevy dealer and see if I can save on the shipping... Thanks for the great tip!!
Closing this one out. I took the advice of Wayback and level6 and went with the Optima Redtop battery. Because they don't have an application for the '07 Vette, I changed my battery tray to the '08 Vette battery tray and the Redtop Series 35 fit perfectly. Thanks to CO Lightfoot for the info on the battery tray changeout.
Because they don't offer the same battery any longer. What they offer
today as a replacement is a cheaper, lower performing battery which I didn't want to try. That's why.

I have always received great servie from Delco batteries including the Voyager deep cycle series for my boats. My OEM is just over 7 years and still going. I'll do another Delco sometime in the future. I think that battery life is more related to the car/user than simply the manufacturer. My last CTS burned through three "Delco" batteries in 56,000 miles over five years which is excessive even though they were covered by the bumper to bumper warranty.
I just did a T-5 from WalMart...lots of places to take care of it if there is a problem. Sam's has a T-5 also. My original also lasted a long time...original '07.
The T-5 is the one I plan to use when needed. I had very good luck with Wal-Mart batteries in my C4, C5 and when the C6 need one that's what it will get. The reason is they are open 24/7 and batteries never die during normal business hours.
