Default Rear View Mirror

The auto dim feature on my inside mirror does not work, is there a fix or does the mirror need replacing and if so any idea how much ?

The Driver's side mirror is slaved to the rear-view mirror.

For 6 seconds. If you push and release, all you will do is turn off the compass display.

Stupidist piece of priority, ever! I have never heard of someone needing to know the compass heading instantaneously, but if, there is some a**hat behind you, blinding you, waiting 6 seconds is an eternity.

lisa

p.s. this is another time, where my cars don't follow the rules. My '05 doesn't need to wait (even though it says it should in the manual). I thought it was a change between the years (although, I can't imagine why), but no, it says on page 2-36 it is supposed to take 6 seconds.

I'm trying to determine if the issue is with the interior mirror only or if OP's problem is upstream/common to both mirrors.

The answer is in your glovebox, who knew?

Mirrors:

Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror.

(On/Off): The automatic dimming feature is
activated when the vehicle is started. Press and hold
this button for up to six seconds to turn this feature on
or off.

(Indicator Light): This light turns on when the
automatic dimming feature is active.

If you're looking backward, I suppose a "front view" mirror would be handy...

Yeah it's funny... Fifteenth century navigation with a satellite-based NAV screen right below...

(well even if you didn't have NAV, not like a compass heading will do much)

Rear view mirror, as opposed to the mirror in the sun visor.

One is for admiring the vanishing distance, and one is for admiring yourself.
