Waze appliction for android and iphone is a really good deal already mentioned above. Be patient with it and give it a while to get used to it and it will be addictive just like your detectors. https://www.waze.com/

of all the detectors I've used Escort's Redline has the most sensitive, long range detection ever. I frequently get valid warnings 3 to 8 miles out. So far in fact that I sometimes think the warning is a fluke. Yesterday I picked up a DPS car 2 miles out and hiding on the other side of a steep hill.

LOL Probably not well, then I would use my escort. But for 90% of my driving where I drive NOTHING is better than the card.

I know there will be people chirping in saying that you have to use your head with them. Well what the hell is the use of having one if you have to worry about when it will work and if it will pick up certain radars. I'm sorry but I know guys that have tried the TOP 3 and they all say the same thing. I just watch my speed. Again what the hell is the point of having one if you have to watch your speed anyways?? OK I will give you that the lights are cool but don't count on them to keep you from getting a ticket. Anyone that says that they can get in their car and drive over the limit and not worry about it is full of sh*t..
Not only does a Radar Detect radar they also detect red light cameras and speed cameras as well as speed traps so it's more than pretty lights on your dash!

Go to radardetectorforum.org for plenty of good unbiased information. Has a map showing what bands are use throughout the country and most of the posters are very nice, helpful and know their stuff. BTW, I have a V1 and am very pleased with it but as others have said you also need to use situational awareness in addition to having a detector.

OK, was going to install the WAZE app but when I read the agreement I had to let them have access to my accounts I decided that was bad idea. Why would they need access to my accounts?

I believe there was an App called Speed Trap and there site got compromised a while back and everybody's info was stolen so don't do it , save the money up and buy a radar , and to the person stating if your going too fast it wont work , well it will detect a mile away

have v1 and redline both very good. Have had v1 for 10 years and escort redline for 3years. Been going over same testing each one at different times in the vette . Both are very close in distance detecting. When I know I"am going to be on open road. I use the redline. Anything else its v1 hands down. the arrows tell you where to look after you slow down and you get very use to the warning burps. At night with the v1 you do not have to be an owl spinning your head all around to see where the signal is coming from. I"am not talking about 30 or 40 over speed limit but 10 over. Friend have gotten tickets for 6 over just depends on the fund raisers in your area.

I normally drive within 5 MPH of the speed limit. I save $$ on not buying a radar detector and I don't worry about speeding tickets.

Sorry...just my .02...why ask for trouble when I can be in charge of my driving, not an electronic device.

But hey, your call. Happy driving my friends. Be safe out there.

The site was hacked and user names and passwords were stolen. The only damage is to the ones that use the same password for everything they do with financials. Paypal, banks and credit cards. I use an alternate facebook acct. to sign on. So, if they hack my waze account, they will get dog bones and some chew toys because it is my dogs facebook. lol. As for privacy, I think Edward Snowden already proved we are under a watchful eye regardless. Only recourse I can think of is off the grid which means no more vette forum. I like waze and I was just suggesting it will help with directions, traffic routes and cop locations. It's by far not even 100% but every little thing helps. That includes a scanner too if you really want to get serious. Or just drive the posted speeed?

Five over is not speeding so you don't need the help of a radar detector. Droning across Nevada and Utah at five over would give me a stroke!.

I don't worry about speeding tickets either. I use a V1...

I am running the Escort 8500. It has very good range, works well but false alarms in Ohio a lot because of the traffic monitoring systems.

It was not expensive though. I bought it refurbished from escort.

I've never run into an X band radar hit by a cop. They're all K, Ka or Laser hits. Running with my V1 in full 'logic' mode, displayed with an 'L' almost all false hits are prevented. On my bikes I use a ten LED display because at speed or on a sunny day I can't see the red arrows light up. Even though I can't hear the warning, using the L mode lets me know that it's most likely a K, Ka or Laser hit when the LEDs go off. In the Vette the scratchy tone of those signals tells me I should be aware. And once again, let's all thank the LEOs out there that run with their radar units on at all times. Keep up the good work!
