I've been thinking about getting the splash guards for my '12 coupe, but they seem so small...do they really help?

Should keep painted edge from getting sand blasted. I live on a small road with no yellow lines so everyone drives in the middle, when I move over for a oncoming car I can hear the stuff flying up from my tires. Makes me cringe.

Yes, super easy. The holes get drilled into the black wheel well liner, not the quarter panel.

I found after putting on the drivers side first is to remove the double stick tape and position the splash guard in the wheel well. The tape will hold it in place and give you an idea for drilling pattern, just drill through the holes into the wheel well.

Do you think a close quarters drill will fit to avoid taking the wheel off ?

Not much room to put a drill between the tire and the inside of the wheel well. Besides you want to drill straight!
