After a few days of not being used, the automatic shifter on the console gets stuck and takes several attempts to get into gear. Has anyone else had this problem? 2006 C6 convertible.
Mine does it occasionally. it's either the brake solenoid not fully engaging, or the shifter button rod is bent or off center.
I had mine apart and found that the button was off center. I reset it, but occasionally it does it. it seems it will do it if I try to shift it too quickly out of Park, or at the same time as I push on the brake pedal.
There is a thread that shows how to bypass the brake solenoid by not allowing the shifter to lock.
I haven't reverted to that yet

If you ever hold the brake pedal down but still
cannot shift out of PARK (P), try this:
1. Press the regular brake.
2. Press the Acc. button twice to place the
ignition in accessory mode. See Ignition
Positions on page 90 for more information.
3. Apply and hold the brake until the end of
Step 4.
4. Shift to NEUTRAL (N).
5. Start the engine and then shift to the drive
gear you want.
6. Have your vehicle inspected by your dealer as
soon as possible.
This may help you. It got me out of the parking lot and saved a wrecker ride to the dealership. The issue with mine was a bad shift assembly that had to be replaced
