Default Squeaky steering column

I have a 3LT with adjustable column. I'm tall so the seats stay back but the column is set to retract when I exit. Upon entry I adjust the column towards me all the way but now at the very end there is a loud squeak. Sounds as if it is plastic on plastic, like one sharp edge scraping on a flat piece. Any suggestion on how to lube this area, tried to find a way to disassemble but from my search this could be really involved.?....?

I have a squeak too but it manifests when turning the wheel.... Car is going back to the dealer because of squeaky brakes so they can deal with that as well....

I expect them to tell me it's because that is a high performance adjustable steering wheel and that's just the way it is!

My 2013 had the "squeaking" sound when turning the wheel.
I thought I read it was the clock spring wire dragging around when you turn the wheel.

They replaced the steering column on my car since it also had "play" in the wheel if the telescoping part was in the "middle" of the adjustment.
IE: it was tight when it was adjusted all the way in or all the way out.
Otherwise there was "play" in and out if I pulled or pushed on the steering wheel.

Unfortunately the replacement column did the same thing.

I have it in the shop for that today and they just called and told me the 2nd replacement column did the same thing again and they had to reorder ANOTHER one. This will be the 4th column in my 2013!

We'll see if the "squeaking" comes back with the "4th" one.

Mike

Wish me luck.

My '13 has developed squeking when turning the wheel as well. I was thinking it was due to the cold weather. I don't drive it much when it's cold, so I may wait to see if it goes away when spring gets here. If not, will be at the dealer to try to fix, not that I really trust them, as they've tried to fix a little movement in my driver's seat (tightened track twice and replaced entire track) with no success.

Default 4th steering column defective too

The 4th column is doing the same thing.

My dealer said that the Chevrolet engineers were stumped.

No call back today from anyone. The car is now on the 3rd week of being at the shop.

Now what do I do?

yep....2014 9-mo.s old 1250 mils.does it when turning wheel. looked at it and its where the s.w. meets the c. . iv'e always used white L.spray grease on my other vettes and it works great . i will try it and see what it does . this is the same stuff the ser. dep. use's .
i noticed that where the c. comes out from the speedo it comes from the fac.with it on there . you can see it if you bring the wheel all the way out .
