I got out of it and really did ok. Since It was a Z51 and 1LT and I used my $2700 in GM card credit I lost Less than $600 .Now I see discounts starting to hit $3k on non Z51 cars. It's just a matter of time when the Z51's will follow. Don't miss it @ all and put the money away. I'm 6'5" 210 lbs and the interior was a little tight also . I owned it since oct 3rd so I had plenty of time to get used to her.

I really think the C6 grand sport is a looker as is the Z06.
interesting….your C7 looks like a 'bloated frog' next to your sweet looking C2…….

Yeah, it's a long title, but it fits.

If I don't get transferred to Europe in a couple of months I'll trade my C6 for a C7 and never look back.
Totally agreed.

Always happens when a new and updated model comes out. I am seeing it constantly with the G8 owners who are talking trash about the new SS. Mainly they think it costs to much. Most of the people complaining are second hand G8 GT owners who got bought their cars for a low price anyways and just want something to be given to them.

Remove your tail light, place it sideways on a table and see if you can roll it.

Hint: It's not a circle.

Every generation has their group of people who are biased and too attached to their respective generations. The C7 is better than the C6 in every way. C7 makes the C6 look like its 2-3 generations behind from the interior to the overall technology added into the car.

C4 owners dont like c5's because it doesnt have the clam shell hood, C5 owners dont like c6's because the pop up headlights are gone, C6 owners dont like C7's because it doesnt have round taillights.

Its funny seeing people grasp and trying to find every little excuse on why they think their cars are better than the next generation.

As a former C5 1999 owner, I was the same when the C6 came out. I felt they chopped the back off. I didn't like the C6's until the wide body's came out. I think next years Z06 will change my mind but for now. I like my GS and wouldn't trade it for a C7. As for the superior ride and handling? I have to do 110 down my twisty road as it is to feel anything, why do I need to do 130? The track is the only place any of that makes a difference.

I think better looking is the main point C6 owners are making. When you are talking about dropping 52-78k on a car it's understandable that you want the car to be something you wouldn't mind being seen in....

The styling on the C7 is polarizing...not bad enough to be called "love it or hate it" but it definitely stirs up some strong opinions and I think that is the last thing chevy wanted.

Let's see how 1st year sales go because that not this forum will be the indicator of whether the new model introduction was successful or not

What an amazingly idiotic post. You really assume to know how others feel about their cars and their reasons for owning one over another? Well, you really missed the boat on me my friend. When I was shopping around for a new Corvette in March of last year, I had a big decision to make. I did lots of research on the soon to be released C7, and I knew it would be a very nice car. My decision? Knowing full well that I could wait a few months, purchase a 2014, and end up with an additional 25 - 30k in my pocket, I instead went with the 60th Anniv 427 Vert and am happy I did. I love this car! It is a special car and I get so many compliments every time I drive it. My decision came down to a few main factors: I plan on hanging on to the car and enjoying it for years to come. Soon there will be many 2014's on the road and they will be a much more common sight than my 60th Anniv. Also, the idea of buying a first year model had a lot to do with it, and I didn't want to wait 2-3 years for the bugs to be worked out. I realized that the interiors and electronics would be much updated on the C7, but I still prefer the classic exterior styling of the wide-body C6. I'm not dis'ing the C7 and I think it's an awesome car. To each his own - I would have saved many thousands by purchasing the C7, so your theory about C6 owners not being able to afford a 60K C7 is total BS. I made the right decision for what I was looking for. I wouldn't even consider trading my car for a 2014.

This is the C7 Z06 not that much different then the base C7 as far as wide body. The c6 Z06 was day and night compared to the base C6. Not so for 2014.

I have a 2012 z06 Young doctor friend called me all excited right after New Years. His wife had bought his 40 bday present a new c7 convertible she walked in and said I want to buy the most expensive one you have women.
He wanted to meet for lunch and ask questions. I drove his 7 speed and he drove my z06 he loved the z and the seats. He didn't care for his competition seats this guy is thin, number 2 the tires in cold making the noise as you turn and last but not least the hill hold feature bothered him he drives a lotus also.
I find the c7 interior smaller or more enclosed if you will look at drivers side carpet its narrow and pie shaped at top. I disliked the hill hold feature as well c7 drove great I give it that credit but did not feel as strong as the z06. My wife feels shut out meaning no easy access to radio or nav controls. My major complaint was the competition seats the bottom hurt my thighs on the sides are the bottom boosters adjustable? So a new z06 is questionable for me and no discounts for several years to come so I will have to sit this one out. Oh 5'6" tall 178 lbs 36 waist 42 chest before the fat comments start and yes I'm 70 but run 3.5 miles every other day and lift 23500 lbs every other day at the gym.

You are right, there really doesn't seem to be that much of a difference. I would trade my GS in for that in red though.

I really like the C7. It doesn't even look like it came from a Corvette, meaning it doesn't carry anything similar over. I like the exterior, but it lacks the flash of the C6 in the way their is too much of the black plastic on the body. The interior is superior, I love the options and the camel leather color as well as the new motor. The looks are so different, but it is a beautiful car.

I love the 427, the LS7 motor with it's incredible power & sound, the classic style, the 6 speed gearbox, the analogue gauges, the wide tires, and the layout of the interior. It's a real roadster, handles awesome, and beautiful to look at!

I love the direct injection of the C7, the much upgraded interior materials (not the layout), and the electronic diff & steering seems to be major step forward. I can live (don't like) with the Eco mode, 7 speeds (don't need), digital gauges (a little gimmicky).

The styling however, as we know is polarizing in that most love it (majority of Corvette owners) and others such as myself are some what repulsed by various aspects of the new generation.

It has nothing to do with being able afford a C7, just about anyone can trade up if motivated as the C7 base price is in the 52k range. I paid 79k for my 427 at a discount (worth about 65k now thanks a lot C7) and I'm a happy owner!

Buy what you like & have fun!

In all of your examples, I don't find false desperation among the fans of the earlier cars. I can easily imagine people valuing the clam shell hood, the pop up lights and the traditional tail lights. And beyond that, there is something wholesome and decidedly not desperate about valuing something you already have. Celebrate the options!

Funny b/c the seat bottoms on both the sport and competition seats are exactly the same.

Everytime I see a C7, I end up shaking my head, and thinking that they just don't appeal to me, despite all the positive hype on the C7 forum. I sometimes wonder if some of those people that spent the money and bought one are determined to like it and not say anything negative about them. I still think the rear end is ugly, and the front hood and all the vents are too much, it just looks too busy, as though the design team didn't know when to stop. Hey, we got a few vents left over, let's find somewhere to slap 'em in. Aside from the sarcasm, I won't be buying one anytime soon, and it has nothing to do with affordability.
