Default Recommendations on Wheel Adapters

I plan on doing a wide body quarter panel conversion on my base coupe this year and using the stock wheels for one season. What are your recommendations for wheel adapters to get by (size wise).

Also is there a noticeable difference when driving?

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, you're talking about a 2" difference in wheel widths. I don't think that would be a safe way to do it, using a 2" spacer, if they are in fact available.

The biggest size adapter not spacer you will be able to run without having to go custom is a 45mm from H&R (#9085704 run about $250 a pair) which will give you about 1.77 in inches. It won't be flush to the wheel well but it won't be to tucked in to far either. I currently run 1" in front and 3/4" in the rear without any problems or handling difference. They too are from H&R I know there's much negative comments about wheel adapters but rest assure buying an adapter from a reputable company you won't have any issues.

I ran 1.5" adapters on the rear (with a wide booty) for over a year before I did the front conversion and got some correct wheels/tires.

No problems with it at all.

Its hard for me to tell you what size you really need. You will have to have your wide body done then measure how much you will need to have the wheel somewhat flush to the wheel well. I made the recommendation of the 45mm as the biggest size available without going custom. However in my opinion once you see how bad @ss the wide body looks you are going to want to put some new wheels.

A quick GOOGLE search found these:

Mine where hubcentric and wheel centric. These are only hubcentric so they are cheaper. I paid over $100 for my two.

I believe that hubcentric ones would be OK.
