Will this jack work?
I need a jack for my new C6. Will this jack work "OTC 1532 Racing Jack"? If not which one works best? Thanks Daniel.

Sure it will work. Judging by nthe picture it appear to be a low profile jack. I have a few home built ramps I drive the front up on and then I roll my floor jack under it at the front cross member to raise the front end.

It will work for the sides and rear but it's not long enough or low enough to slide under the front.
If you're going to spend hundreds on a jack that you don't need to haul around then there are better ones. If you need the light weight of aluminum for portability, then it's fine, but there are cheaper alternatives out there.

Well which one would you recommend as a cheap alternative?

Harbor Freight has a couple goods that are under $100.
The Harbor Freight "racing" jack with a coupon is $69, I think. I have one in the garage and in the trunk of my other cars, just in case....

I had an aluminum one of theirs that had an LED light in the saddle so you could see where you were lifting. Lightweight and not very expensive.
Now I have an Omega long reach jack + another jack from Harbor Freight.

I made ramps out of 2x12s so I can use the standard craftsman jack.
I cut the 2x12s into lengths of about 2' 4' and 6' then stacked them. Also have piece of plywood on bottom that sticks out about a foot. The wheels run up on it first to prevent the ramps from kicking out.

Pick up some jack stands, too, if you're going to get under there.

I've got a couple of those. I'm installing the LM1 and then soon I hope I'll tackle the headers and the rest of the kit.
