am thinking of upgrading 08 ls3 exhaust, some say headers, some say Z06 exhaust will give me the same for less costs. already has the npp exhaust. any opinions would be welcome.
Probably the least cost effective method of getting more power if that's your purpose. Keep it the way you have it.
yes, been thinking of that also, better resale or trade in value leaving it stock I believe. I had an 02 vert, did cam, heads, full exhaust, had lots of tire kickers, took time to sell, has to be the right person.
lol I figured someone would step up soon, got mine in the fall and have no chance to take a pick, so I had to steal one off the net, is exact same car, comption grey wheels and z51, couldn t tell if this one is. sorry Al... I got it off google.

LOL.. You can use it if you want . It is not a Z51 car... those pictures were taken 2 hours after I bought it at a rest stop on the way home. I added Z51 brakes last year.
I had an 08 with NPP and liked it, but a bit too quiet for my liking. Sold the car, and ended up with a 2012 GS with non-NPP exhaust. Swapped it out for the Borla ATAK cat-back and absolutely love it. No drone, not too noisy in the cabin, but just the right amount of growl. Lots of popping and crackling on overrun...just perfect. Easy bolt-on, and you could keep your stock exhaust to put back on the car when you sell it. You could also probably sell the aftermarket cat-back as a take-off when you sell the car, and get back some of your initial investment.

If you want only the sound I would go with one of the many axlebacks. If you want a little more performance....I would go with the headers. They will change the sound of the car, also.
As you have probably read.....exhaust changes are on the top of 'oh crap I wish I had not done that' list, so chose carefully.
Headers with NPP is perfect. Volume will increase, power will increase and you will be able to kill drone still by closing the valves. I love my Headers w/Z06 BiMode muffler setup.

Can get the OBX headers with x pipe for $700.
This x100.
With longtubes and the flaps closed, the car is ALMOST stock quiet. With them open, it's VERY loud. You get the best of both worlds.
Headers were worth 27 hp and 16 ft/lbs on my blower car w/ LESS ignition timing.

You can do a 'search' on mods you regret.
Drone would probably be the biggest bitch.....some just too loud. Many have ate what they spent on the axleback and put stock back on.
Loud bothers you more the older you get. If you are young....it can't get to loud.
Easy mode: Corsa anything with a crossover (no drone, bolt on with minimal effort).
Headers will net you more HP/TQ if you're looking for it, but at the cost of emissions inspection. Most headers are NOT 50 state compatible- before you expend the income, check to see your state requirements and see if headers are within the regulations. If you're in California, no headers are legal there.
I went with the Corsa Sports (to go with the rest of my mods), but they have yet to be installed (July I get her back.. Man I can't wait). After extensive research on all available exhaust systems, as well as the advice of Jeff over at LPE, the Corsa presented the best option for the money and power gains. They are also one of few companies who test their exhaust systems extensively, and go back to the drawing board if drone presents itself during testing; meaning that you will experience none with yours if you choose to go that route.
Youtubes don't do any exhaust system justice- I recommend finding people who have them to listen to in person if you can, or at the very least, looking up HD videos to get quality sound from it.

Wrong: I'm 70 and i have a cam,ARs,tune & Borla stringers and i love it ( Neighbors Don't) and at 75 on the interstate i don't have the DRONE in the cockpit that all are talking about.I only hear it from the rear..
