im sure this has happened to every corvette owner at some point
so your driving down the road an some guy in what ever sees your in a vette an automatically has to challenge you what do u do ?
let him have it? or dismiss him as a jerk an continue to just cruise?
well it happened to me today an I let him have it lol
I dismiss them. If they want to lose that bad, they can come to the track and do it. On the road, I'm out for pleasure.. The only speeding I do is when it's empty and flat for miles around haha
I don't consider him a jerk, I just give him a grin & continue to cruise on...
recently a Camaro ZL1 challenged me at a light, I just smiled and let him smoke his tires & in a few seconds he was out of sight, a few minutes later I saw him pulled over on a side street with LEO having a talk with him!, was going to circle around & drive by and give him the big grin but decided why rub salt into the wound...
Street racing is for weak minded Bozo's from the shallow end of the gene pool.......not worth the risk of endangering the innocent public let alone yourself
most younger guys just want to hear/see your vette do what it was designed to do.....
if anyone actually says......wanna race...just politely tell them that this car is really too fast to open it totally up on the street.....
but if it is a 100% empty/wide open freeway with no intersections, I might say lets just ease back down to a "20 or 30 punch and roll up to 70" & then back it down.....no real harm there.....
surely there are very few drivers that could screw up in those few seconds with a top speed of 70 which is the speed limit in at least half the US......and out west its higher....
technically I guess you could receive a ticket for going too slow on the Interstate @ 20mph....ha!
The pedal on the right is the $ pedal. That guy wont pay your ticket or increased insurance premiums. And he sure as hell is not sticking around if you wreck. just politely let him go. You can beat him anyway so who cares.
Mostly I let it go but if the car is worth a challenge and the conditions are right, I'll give it a go up to a certain point. Last 2 times it was a 911 and Maserati coupe.
