Hey guys, as another member posted above, anyone know if you can still use the NPP mild to wild with the mufflers off? I did this mod to my Camaro SS and it sounded fantastic, just wondering if i'll be able to quiet it down on command like I am now or not.

The NPP and M2W CONTROLS baffles on the Mufflers... If the "Muffles are Off", what is left for NPP to control?? This is a confusing questions, sorry..

The NPP baffles are aft of the mufflers. I am looking at doing the muffler delete and retaining the NPP system. I'm hoping that this will tone down the noise a bit from the straight pipe "symphony" when I want to.

After driving in his car I started looking at bullets.... if I had known I could have saved a lot of money... there is no such thing as too loud. I was shocked at how quite the inside of the car was. Again had I known that I would have gotten a much more extreme exhaust

OP, your pipes sound very good.

Personally, I'd love to duplicate this sound.

Is there a vendor source for stainless steel pipes that bolt in with no cutting or welding when the mufflers are removed?

I also deleted my mufflers recently. It is LOUD! I had a C5 with cam/heads/long tubes w/o cats and borla stingers. They are almost as loud as that. Its the gurgling that is killing me. And yes they do drone, a lot.
But for $250 it is worth it until I do the complete exhaust.

I also just did the delete Friday. Drove it all weekend and yes it is louder than stock by quite a bit. For me it borders on the edge of too loud when just cruising around under 2500 rpm. At Idle it sounds great. It also sounds great throughout the whole rpm range but when it gets above 2500 the sounds becomes fantastic. If any one is around the mid michigan area and wants to hear it let me know.

9 second CTS-V - AWESOME SOUND!!! - YouTube
Long-Tubes, x-pipe, a large, choppy cam, and SLP Loudmouth1 will get you pretty close to that without going to a 418 or 427ci motor. Wish I still had the sound recordings of my cammed Z28 with LT's Y-Pipe, and Loudmouths before I swapped to the 427 LSx block. It sounded very similar, maybe a touch louder. From the looks of the pipes on that CTS-V, looks like he's running Corsa.

You can actually hear the camshaft in that thing!

For anyone who's wondering I run long tubes and straight pipes but retained the NPP tips and have a mild 2 wild setup in the car. Flaps open is LOUD and sounds unbelievable but with flaps closed it is almost completely silent. Best of both worlds

I knew this would be the trick setup. See my post #83. I hope I can find a shop that can do this change using stainless steel tubing.

Thanks for your Post confirming what I wanted to do.

Cheers - Major Boyd
