Removed by original owner most likely, due to them becoming damaged or otherwise holding up poorly. If you want them, you can buy them- but if it's that important I'd have them painted on professionally and clear coated.

I like these very much.
nearly bought one about 2 years ago.

great color, decked out with all goodies like z51, 3lt, color matched spoiler, handles, interior parts.
they also had unique colored split spoke wheels before they got standard option (different color though) in 2008!
I. e. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-INDY-INDIANAPOLIS-500-C6-CORVETTE-PACE-CAR-WHEELS-SET-OF-4-/171272233377?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item27e09ee1a1&vxp=mtr
the picture above is close but the lights in the vert cover may have been on the actual pace car but not at the car one could buy. same is for the euro tail lights, regular tail lights were on the production version.

there are many reasons (appearance, maintenance, cleaning, preserving) for people to take off the elaborate graphic design for regular driving.
I'm quite sure that you could order them with the stripes in the trunk and/or they may have been a dealer install item anyways (although I doubt that).

the one that I was looking at 2 years ag had the striping pack non installed but came with it.

personally I like the pace car big time, if you want the stripes i'm sure you find them sooner or later on ebay or this forums "for sale" block or somewhere.

plenty reference pictures here:

I have an '07 pace car with all the graphics. I don't think I would have bought it without them. It makes the car standout. I purchased it about a year and a half ago with the intention of showing it. I have done about 9 shows and took home 6 trophys including 2, 2nd best in show or as my buddy says, first loser
You can purchase the decals here, http://parts.nalleygmc.com/showAssem...ssembly=404687
But they are not cheap. I've also done a lot of visual mods to the engine and interior, but only mods that are reversible because of the nature of the car. I keep all original parts. Good luck with yours.

Ok, to each his own. The way I understood your original post, it sounded like you wanted to restore it to original

Wouldn't that have been nice, that would have been a lot cleaner and custom looking. It probably would have cost more for the initial purchase and added value to the car if it came custom from the factory like that, IMO. Anyway good luck with it.

The way I understand it, it it was not a festival car, the graphics were shipped with the car and the dearler would install them, but the owner could request that they not be installed and simply come with the car. So it could be that they were never installed and the original owner may have them.
