Ok… I thoroughly believe in doing search work before you have to ask….BUTTT….did the the search work and found the info to be confusing…here's the question: have a 2012 GS and want to put splash guards up front to stop "road rash"…. I have searched on a couple vendors but none are quite clear on the difference between the base C6 and the GS…. Is there a difference with regard to the splash guards? Who do you recommend? Don't want to order the wrong thing! Thanks….
Easy to find a number of vendors for base vettes. Wide bodies such as GS and Z06 not so much. I didn't care for what I read about the apsis product. Ultimately my solution was a clear bra install on our '13 GS.
Best wishes.
Glen

Thanks…..just want to protect the paint as soon as possible….what didn't' you like about the apsis?
I've been very happy with the RPI splash guards on my GS. I also have side skirts (also from RPI), which seem to help with things kicking up from underneath as well. I have not seen GM splash guards for GS/Z06 - only for base C6.

A buddy (Z06) went with both (splash guard and "clear bra"). I (GS) went only with "clear bra". Neither of us has had any issues with paint protection at this point.
I've got 42k on my 2011 GS, and don't have any road rash issues, and it is a daily driver. Even had track days too. Lots of rain, some snow, lots of hot and dry driving.
For tires, I ran the Goodyear GEN2 rfs for about 13k, then have had the same set of Bridgestone Potenza RFs (also factory size) on it since then. So, no super sticky tires, these seem to not throw up many stones to chip the car.
I thought about getting the bigger spash guards, but probably won't now, due to no issues.

I just bought a black 2011 GS last month. It has Bridgestone Potenza tires and 20,000 miles on it and zero rock chips. After reading a couple of the rock chips threads over the last couple of days, I started wondering what in the world the last guy did to prevent road rash. I guess I'll skip the splash guards as well.

I have a bit more than half the mileage of Seadawg, traded out the Goodyears for Michelin Super Sports at 7500 miles and no road rash. My car is driven daily, even during this terrible winter and I am not running any kind of bra or splash guards.
Last I looked, the apsis pieces were kinda spendy.
NOTE: I have found that the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are not good in the snow and might be downright dangerous for some drivers. There were several "snow days" for me this winter where I either took my wife's truck to work or borrowed a ride. Just thought I would be outright with that.
