Another trim fade thread

I'm looking at buying an '08 Z06 and it's in good condition other than the door/a-pillar trim is faded/peeled. I found these threads which is the same thing,

Question is, is this a deal breaker unless the dealer fixes it?? Obviously I'm going to try for that, but also is it something that will stay fixed if properly treated?? What is the consensus on preventing this??

Whether it's a deal breaker is up to you, but even if the dealer replaces them, it will happen again. The culprit is the sun, so less exposure, less fade over time.

That was conclusion as well from reading those threads. Doing one of the fixes on the existing trim may be as good as anything.

Will dealer replace the trim under factory warranty.

I think they will from reading the comments in other threads, but the car I'm looking at is an '08.
