Changing out the head unit in my 06 vert.
Is it true that the rear speakers in either the coupe or vert are wired in mono from the bose amplifier ?
If this is the case then should I be wiring the new rear speaker upgrades direct from the rear output of the new radio and bypass the rear bose speaker lines?
Yes the rear channel is mono. IMO you would get best sound staging leaving the rear speakers out all together. If you do use them then yes, run new wire to the HU or even better an aftermarket amp.

Thanks going to run those rears off the new head unit direct. The Vert has these small rear speaker enclosures, I may rebuild them out of fiberglass for better sound.

I agree the best sound staging is without rear fills and I have that set up in my car...but if he is ends up having the front speakers go directly to the new head unit, speaker quality and sound staging are not going to be close to the quality of an external amp (not the super cheap Bose amp), and I would recommend leaving the rear speakers in and connected to the h/u or Bose amp for fill. I notice this thread is mostly old but thought I would chime in ntl
