I have a question about the cd player in my 07 with nav. with a cd in, and start up the car, the cd player doesn't work. i have to open the screen, eject and close, and then sometimes it still doesn't play and other times it does. what the secret?
In the nine years I've owned mine, I've had several issues like this and I found that disconnecting the battery has fixed it each time. It's happened maybe three times.
i will try that tomorrow. in my 99, disconnecting the battery solved a lot of problems, but that was a short term solution. the long term solution was A NEW BATTERY. i may need one

Don't forget that after you reconnect the battery, you'll probably need to reset the window indexing for both windows.

A couple of shots of compressed air in the cd slot solved that same problem on mine.
The car is a very dusty environment and dust is the enemy of the laser lense that reads the CD. I need to do this with mine as it frequently loses lock on the CD and goes to the next song before finishing this one.
the shot of compressed air sounds like it might be the answer. i've owned the car for a month and it came from texas, a dusty environment. i'll give it a try. thanks for the tip
