I just had to have Recaro seats in my car, and they really look good. Had custom mounting brackets made, special seat belts, but at theend of the day, I should have left the stock seats in. The issue is that I am almost 60 and can not get and out of the car, guess I will be putting my redone OE seats back in.
What's the issue? Are the seat bottom bolsters or upper bolsters too large to comfortably get in/around? Big of you to admit it, tho. Two thumbs up. May help someone else think it thru first esp. if money's tight and a mistake can't be tolerated.

They are fixed back seats and you have to crawl over them to get in, plus the factory belts won't work with them, so I had set of OE looking 5 point belts made to look like factory belts with a single buckle, but trying to get into them because they don't have retractors is a challenge.
I'm sorry, I was laughing because you spent a lot of time, effort and money for these seats only to want to switch back to the original set up. Obviously more thought and research was needed beforehand. I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling them.

Ah, I see. Fixed back could be really tough esp. with large(r) bolsters.

Actually I did a bunch of research. I retired in November from the company that owns Recaro and tested fitted my butt in all the seats to make sure I fit in them. The part I did not realize how hard it is to get and out of the car when you use it to go to the grocery store.
So, I am going to use the seats but only for trackdays.
I'VE OFTEN THOUGHT OF GETTING A SET OF THESE.However,at the end of the day,I'll be 57 this year and twisting and turning my body isn't as easy as it once was.lol.Thanks for confirming my suspicions..

Great seats, they just don't work well for an old guy to get in and out of!

I nearly made the same mistake. Fortunately I ran into a guy at the track who had just installed the identical seats I was about to order. I asked if I could set in them. I quickly discovered getting in or out involved climbing over the large outboard bolsters. Admittedly, once in the seat it was very supportive and comfortable. However, ingress and egress was another story.
Like Tim I'm older and have a chronic bad back. Several years ago I had back surgery that fused my lower lumbar. The result was a very inflexible back compete with constant discomfort. Thus, getting in and out of the car can be somewhat of a chore.
