Other than the nav unit what other parts do I need to install the unit in a 2006 coupe that did not come with one new.

I have 05, and if your car didn't come with NAV, I think you need NAV antenna for the NAV unit I believe, and if you want satellite radio you will need receiver for that, but don't quote me, I went in another direction with Kenwood with CD, DVD, bluetooth, IPod and had them install sat receiver to listen to XM.
This what I used for the NAV, old reliable Garmin.

If you have a bose system in the car now, pretty easy, beside the $100 for the dealer to put a used factroy Nav unit into relearn mode so it can marry to your car, and the needed nav antenna that get mounted to the top of the center dash duct.

If you do not have a Bose system, then the same as above, but you will need to wire in a Vss plug from the wires under the dash. On the bose system, the plug is there, but since it's not used, it just taped back to the larger wiring plug.

If after market, you don't need to have GM unlock the deck, but still have the module to get the system to work with the car wiring, the Vss wiring, and needed plate adapter. As for a Nav antenna, the deck should come with one.

The downfall to the after market in dash nav units is that they do not communicate with the Hud system right now. By fall, there should be an adapter module that not only will work for the needed wiring interface, but communicate with the Hud for display out on it. So unless you are chomping at the bit to have an aftermarket system in the car right now, may want to wait unit the module that communicates with the hud comes out and have the after market deck installed then.
