Today I pick up a pair of npp mufflers for my 07 from a very nice gentleman on craiglist. Got my npp in a box on order but was thinking about installing the mufflers and running it open until my box get in.
I'm not sure is though I'm seeing a question here.
Are you asking if you should just install the mufflers now and run them open before the NPP in a box gets there? If so, I suppose there's no harm in doing it. You'll eventually have to install the mufflers anyway.

I would do it without hesitation. Ever since I bought my car with NPP I've had the fuse out. I can't seem to find a reason to ever put it back!
Took out my fuse... I wish I knew what it sounded like I can't get my wife to drive the car down the block so I can hear what it sounds like from the outside.
No need for a switch, keep them open so it sounds like a sports car! Pulled my fuse out 3 years ago.
Nope, that's not for me.
When I'm traveling for extended periods, (an hour or more), on the highway, I don't much care for that mono-tone drone.
I'd prefer it nice and quiet.
A few months ago, I drove 1,600 miles to the Smoky Mountains and back from South Florida.
If I didn't have the M2W capabilities, I would have had to re-install the fuse.
I gonna wait until I get the box so I can control it, loud when im by myself and quiet with the wife. It should be here next week. I have a happy and peaceful home and would like to keep it that way. Wife don't like it loud.

There are some guys here who would tell you to get another wife.
When you say you're waiting for, "the box", I assume your talking about the M2W kit?
That's what I have, and it works beautifully. Photo below shows where I mounted the remote control.
Some guys just bought an SPDT switch from radio shack, and installed it in the dead pedal, or console.
That works fine, and accomplishes the same thing, but makes it impossible to open/close the exhaust butterflies from outside the car, at the rear, so you can actually check on their operation.

As they say, too each his own.
I love the sound of the pure exhaust….that said, on a long interstate run, I hit the m2w switch and turn up the music!
