'06 Automatic Shifter Problem
My Vette running buddy and I were leaving an event yesterday and he put his shifter into reverse and backed out of a parking spot. He put the shifter into drive and it felt "funny". Then he realized the car was still in reverse and the shifter moved freely, like it had become disconnected. Stuck in reverse, shifter did nothing, had to have it towed.
Anyone experienced shifter issues? Anyone know how the shifter connects to the trans? Figure it's not like the older ones I'm used to with a simple lever and rod or cable arrangement. Trans has had no issues, throwing no codes, hope it's just some type of linkage issue and nothing internal.

Sounds like the shifter cable came loose. I had the same thing a few years ago.

Probably at the shifter end. There is a thread here somewhere with pictures on how to fix it.
