Dual Climate Control/AC problem
Ok about a year ago I got the whole AC assembly and condenser replaced under warranty. Recently it has been acting up to where when I start the car and put on AC it just blows outside air while it is showing 60* on climate control. That isn't right. So I go ahead turn it off and back on. Same thing. Long story short it is getting worse and worse and will eventually start blowing cold air. The past 3 times I have gotten the AC to blow cold the AC air honestly smells like fog machine smoke. It is very weird. I changed out the cabin air filter back in Jan or so of 2013. My car is a 2006 Z06 with 39K miles on it. Purchased it at 20K. Is it possible my climate control is going bad or something else? Everything is still under warranty. I just want to see what is wrong with it before I call them up and make a claim.

Does the air come out of the ducts you expect it to and can you control where it comes out, ie: dash vents vs. floor vents vs defroster? If not, you might have the dreaded actuator failure(s). If you do have control then it's probably the head unit.

I can control where it comes out. Yea I was prob going to do that. Just don't know if I want to take to dealership or performance shop. Also the buttons are wearing pretty bad so replacing the unit would be great.
