I used the search, and wound up going through 10 pages of threads with very few actually discussing C6 batteries (lots of posts for fob batteries, battery chargers, etc)
So after 6-1/2 years my OEM battery is toast.
What should I get?
5 years ago it would be a no brainer. I'd get a an Optima red top. However, many say they aren't reliable any more. I still might get one cuz I think I want to get an AGM to eliminate the possibility of acid leaks.
Hmmm, let's see, over SIX years on a C6 battery, an OEM battery...hmmmm. At, let's say, $100 divided by 78 months, that's less than a buck a month. Which one to buy, which one to buy....
I haven't had extremely good luck with Optima batteries but they've been replaced under warranty. I stick with them (and it sounds silly) because they aren't ugly like most batteries. I'm in to cosmetic thingys.
That is what I did when my 2007 needed a new battery. I have had excellent luck with Delco's over the years and the new Delco Professional with a very good warranty only ran around $85 at the Chevy dealers parts department.

Thanks. I've had a red top in my '79 Camaro for about 4 years with no issues. But it has the same (easy) life as my C6 battery. How long is the warranty on a red top?
I don't mind paying more for the peace of mind of AGM......

Based on that price, a dealership ain't so bad of a place to buy a Delco.....

Red and Yellow 3 year. I had a red go out right at 3 years and got a full replacement.
Just make sure it's rated at 600CCAs, or more, Cold Cranking Amps, and has a good warranty. I had to laugh looking over all the service records on my one owner 06 purchase a couple years ago. Somewhere in one of them was the recommendation that the battery be replaced but one wasn't listed on any of the other service orders. When I looked I saw a shiny AAA battery the kind you get from the AAA tow company when.....laughed out loud!
Mike, I replaced mine about 2 years ago w. an oem AC, but way back when I did some research on Odyssey Batteries. Apparently very good AGM batteries. I'm pretty sure I kept some notes on which one works for our cars, or it might be somewhere in either C6 Tech or Gen.
Found it, Klaus-96 stated that this Odyssey fits an '08 (his):
I went through two Delcos at about 2 years each and got an Optima Red Top 16 months ago with no problems so far. Both the Delcos split and spewed acid into the engine compartment.

They aren't that reliable, but they look good. My last yellow top lasted less than 2 years.
I went back to OEM Delco. That last one lasted 5 years and 30K miles. I kept it on a battery tender for about 4 months straight during the winter months.
