My chirping -squeak- squeak noise …..figured it out! Its a belt issue….soon as I put some silicone on the belt and let that run around a bit …..gone!! Thanks to various folks here who gave tips on diagnosing!

Post back here when it starts chirping again in a week.
Exactly! But at least I am now fairly convinced I'm not dealing with a harmonic balancer issue!
Well, the reason I said that is because usually when a dealer looks at the squeak issue they replace the belt and send you on your way. It starts again in a week or so and they put a new tentioner on it. Not long after that they finally realize the balancer is no good and replace that as a final fix. Not saying that's your situation but I've read of this scenario many times. I hope yours is a permanent fix. Fingers crossed.
If the chirping is caused by a wobbling balancer, changing/lubricating the belt will only temporarily mask the problem for 50 to 100 miles. The jury is still out.
Looking at the balancer while the engine is running is simple to do. There shouldn't be any uncertainty as to whether the chirping is caused by a balancer wobble issue. Some silicone is unlikely to fix the issue long term though, no matter what is causing it.

Ahhhh…ok, I thought if it was the balancer, the squeak is caused by the balancer itself and changing the belt or treating it with silicone or whatever, would do NOTHING?
A wobbling balancer does not chirp. It's the combination of the balancer wobbling and the belt running across it. Obviously changing the belt or lubricating it does do something to change the dynamic but that something is short lived.
A simple bar of soap does wonders for a chirping belt IF you can manage to apply it w/o getting your hand caught somewhere. Its a temporary fix though but really works...temporarily.

That is what i used for many years on my hoopies...WORKS..

I was with your thought process. But it sound like from other comments the chirping could be caused by the belt's lateral movement over a pulley that is not running true. ? Keep us posted this will be interesting. Hope it' just a belt issue.
Had the same issue until last weekend; 1 hour and 15 minute drive to Solloway's in Smyrna, $20, New balancer, belts and an oil change, $695. No Chirping sound.....priceless!
The chirping is because the worn/failing tensioner leans towards the front of the car and causes the belt to ride out of alignment. I new belt or spraying something on the belt to "soften it" will temporarily stop the chirping, but as the side of the belt rides on the leaning tensioner, it will cause more chirping, and eventually the pressure will cause the bearings in the tensioner pulley to fail as well.
Change your tensioner folks and save some $$$.

Been through this problem.
Step 1 new belts. (temp solve) $20 - $40
Step 2 new pulleys (no help) $100
Step 3 new gatorback belts (temp solve) $30
Step 4 new harmonic balancer (no help) ($2200 with cam swap)
Step 5 new tensioner. (Perm solve) $70
