A little new to this subject...so with a grain of salt.

I think the bottom line for your situation. Your TPMS can be re-installed into your new Zr-1 wheels. The important thing is make sure they go back on the same corner. If not, yes, the car system will need to be Re-learned using a TPMS Tool.

That thread is mine, and I posed the same question to the tracking forum. If you keep two sets of wheels, like I do, you can clone the new TPMS using a tool. Your tire guy should be knowledgeable on this.

The TPMS sensors will be pulled from the old rims, installed in the new rims with a new O ring, then the car put into learn mode to relearn The TPMS positions.

To put the car into TPMS mode, put the car into ACC mode, then push down on both the lock and unlock buttons on the fob close to the shifter at the same time.

The car will honk, and the DIC will state that that the car in TPMS relearn mode. The cars learns the TPMS starting with the drivers front, the passengers front, the passengers rear, then the drivers rear.

Starting with the front and a TPMS trigger tool, you trigger the front drivers TPMS sensor with the tool, the car learns it, and the horn honks. Next the the passengers front, trigger the TPMS with the tool, the car learns it, and the horn honks. Same for the passengers rear, and when you trigger the last drivers rear tire and the car learns that TPMS, the car will honk twice to tell you your done.

The shop installing the tires and rims will reset the TPMS, but if you want a TMPS reset tool yourself, Tire rake is selling one for $19. (if the they have not sold out on them yet_.

Note, when you use this tool for 2012 vet, set the tool to HHR 2009, and not to corvette 2005 to 2009. The TPMS's used in the HHR are the same ones used in your vet, so the tool works so long as you set it to the HHR setting.

Without stealing the OP's thunder,

Dano, I have two sets of wheels (one track, one street), the install guys cloned my TPMS. When I make the switch do I need to go through the re-learn process? I bought he PUR Cub 101 from Tire rack. But, if they are clone my first thought is "no issue".

Am I correct?

Thanks
