I see many threads with people disagreeing about chrome wheels versus black wheels, auto versus manual tranny, black vette versus white vette. After reading these threads, i cant help but think, how many people actually race, short track, long track, straight track? For what i have seen on the road, i would say 99% never even break the speed limit. As for me, i like to get on it a little. But my car will never see a track. It sits in its little bubble in the garage waiting for me to come home and drive it. 2013 base with 1500 miles. Some would say thats a waste, its not what it was meant for. I like driving it, in fact i would say i love to drive that car. But i didnt get it to drive everyday. I realize the forum is for people to agree to disagree, but fighting over the little things here is a joke. It doesnt matter what vette you have, what size motor it has, what mods you have installed. What matters is you drive a vette.

Personal preference is what it's all about, to each his/her own. I just like cars, PERIOD.
I love looking at the "favorite pics" thread. Hundreds of CF members Corvette photos. Most of which are have colors, rims or mods that I would never want but they are all works of art to me.
What I don't understand are the people that post the 'what should I do?' questions, when what they are asking are essentially personal preference questions.
I am like you, I am a cruzer and not a performance driver even though I like to mix it up a little with the rice burners and Shelby's every once in a while. I do like the diversity here on the Forum. Some spend thousands for a few tenths of a second, some add additional parts only they love, and some add emblems, decals that have nothing to do with their car. EVERY Vette is different from every other Vette, each unique in its own right. And all done with pride no matter what. That's what we are...

I fully agree, we're all vette owners, like a fraternity or brotherhood. I wave to black wheeled bases and C4s.
Last month I had the time of my life driving Daytona, PBIR, and Sebring. I know you said you dont want to track your car, but man you have some of the best tracks in the country right in your back yard. Mine is a garage queen as is yours, except for track days. You could take it down to Palm Beach and run 140 mph down the back stretch. Look up performance driving group.com. A great organization ran by Henry Gilbert who is a forum member here. You could putz in the corners and there is very very little worry of trading paint. Just fly down the backstretch and enjoy the straightline speed without the concern of getting your car impounded from spirted driving on I-95.
No argument from me if you still wish to not track it. Just trying to help a brother out.

So you're saying you love to drive "that car', when it's not in it's bubble, yet only drive it occasionally..... and then " What matters is that you drive it"
Kind of sounds like a contradiction of your statement.
Size does matter
There's only one 'right' color
It doesn't matter where you're going, it's about the drive to get there

i guess i should have mentioned im a civilian contractor working in Afghanistan. I get home once or twice a year. Im sure if i was home more often or for good it would have more miles on it. But as most vette owners, im overly **** about my car. Scratches, i would say dings but that wont happen on this car, or any other bruise or mark would be enough of a reason to trade it. But, i do get to look at pics and watch and listen to the videos i have taken. Most people think im crazy. Especially when they see my car in a car capsule. I believe only another vette owner can understand how i feel. OK, maybe i am crazy.

Like most things in My life, I just don't have time for "nay sayers". I bought MY Corvette for ME. Period! I totally enjoy all aspects of the Corvette Hobbyist.
1. Cleaning & Polishing...being a "Waxer" as my track friends call it.
2. HPDE Tracking events...nothing like putting it down with no PoPo, no animals, just open track and slower traffic.
3. Turning all my own wrenches on everything that I have the skills and capabilities to do so.
4. Modifying MY Corvette to MY standards, rather its show and shine or tracking parts. It all fun, I even try to stay busy in the winter with under carriage cleaning, lubricating, and maintenance.
As for the arguing, or "mines bigger...better". That just seems all in good fun and humor. Don't take anything too seriously on here, you and I don't have the time for it.
