So GM says the problem is still an issue on 08-13 but won't fix them unless there is a problem which means I lost my headlights at night. I hope our GM customer rep chimes in. This may be the last GM car I own. Even their new trucks have issues such as tie rods falling off because their union employee didn't do their job.

— Nearly 112,000 Chevy Corvettes from 2005 through 2007 because they can lose low-beam headlights. GM says when the engine is warm, an electrical housing can expand and bend a wire, causing it to fracture. GM will also repair Corvettes from 2008 through 2013 if owners have the problem.

I am not enamored with unions but how do you know it was an union employee that caused a problem? The issue could just as easily happened due to a torque wrench not being calibrated correctly due to an error in design paperwork or an issue with the tool issued to the worker that wasn't detected until they found tie rods that weren't torqued correctly. Not all the people responsible for doing those jobs correctly are union employees. Probably, most of them aren't. Of ten workers involved in the job of making sure the tie rod is torqued correctly probably the last two in line are union workers everybody else from the design engineer down was an exempt worker.

Here's a question: When will GM repair my 2008 Corvette if I have the headlight problem, say in 2018. They keep making these parts indefinitely?

In case you haven't noticed this is a Corvette Forum, nothing in the article about Union or non-Union...and an FYI, the 2014 Silverado and Sierra are built in Sileo, Mexico using non-Union labor. If people here are so non-Union, why buy and drive a car built in Bowling Green Ky. by American Union Labor?

Legit question...Let's say I spent $1139 at my local dealership in February of 2013 to get both HID ballasts replaced on my 2005 because they both went out and I couldn't drive my car past 6pm (without blinding everyone with the high beams)...would they reimburse the money spent since they're now acknowledging it was an issue?
