Anyone have this happen? I started to lower the top for the first time this year and it got half way in the process, the waterfall was vertical.
The DIC now says the trunk bolster was 'unlatched'. Tried to open the trunk and the DIC says 'top not secured'. Now what?
I got the key out, opened the trunk as far as possible. Luckily I have long arms and could reach into the trunk and push in on the snaps. They did not seem unlatched so I undid each side and resnapped the latches. The top would now close.
What gives? I'm flumixed. Kinda catch 22.
There is a small limit switch right at the snap on the right side...take a look at it. If the partition was not completely snapped...the top motion stops. Also, if that limit switch goes bad...
The trunk partition was probably just barely latched when you started to put the top down.
The movement of the tonneau/top must have dislodged the the partition just enough to release the switch causing the interruption.
Good work on assessing/correcting the problem.
That's what I thought, but I don't like like being in a catch 22 situation. It needs a reset to re-raise top so you can open trunk, or some kind of reset option to do a manual raise.
Anyone got a picture of this button? I would like to tie wrap them too.
Once something in the trunk shifted and it got stuck under the divider and I had the same deal. 30 minutes of cursing before I could get the top down. If it would have been raining the car would have been flooded.

If you unsnap the partition, look at the passener side pedestal that the partition snaps to...the small push button is right there facing you. It is held in place by the actual snap on the partition.

Good idea, but what is the downside? I'll give it a try

The downside is simple...if you have things in the trunk without the partition being snapped up, and you put the top down, the top may come down onto those objects and break the glass in the top...that glass is made as a permanent part of the top, meaning that the top will need to be replaced. That will no doubt be expensive.

Yeah that makes sense, but I think the risk is worth it. I have always made sure the partition was in place, but somehow it popped off, and I think in midstream as the top was going down. Nothing in the trunk.
It started down but stopped with the waterfall vertical. Then it wouldn't go either direction, not good.
