Out of the blue: Check traction control, Check active handling. Running on less than 8 cyclinders. Alternator sounds like it's ticking.

2013 with 1600 miles.

Ideas?

That might be it. Just borrowed an OBC and it said random misfire. If I could fix it and keep it out of the dealership's dirty hands I would spend the $$

Check both ends of each spark plug wire for snug fit. If not fixed, pull up passenger footwell carpet and check two big blue plugs for snug fit. These two items probably responsible for 75% of this type of complaint.

I will do that! I am thinking it has to be a loose "something" with only 1600 miles on it.

Any idea what the blue plugs are connected to?

Oh yeah, and so I put the car back in the warehouse, grab my new Ford Super Duty and a "check coolant additive" light comes on.

Father's day and all my stuff is broke!

The blue plugs go into the passenger footwell fuse block.

Alternator on my '08 died at 800 miles with similar DIC messages. Not saying that's your problem, but it's certainly possible.

Good news! Dodged the dealer!

After the ideas I pulled the plastic covers off the tops of the engine and the stupid wire to the coil had fallen of.

Musta been a Friday car.
