There has not been a lot of discussion of this topic, I'm curious to know what ChuckCoW thinks about this and if it actually occurs.

The trans never stops learning.....until it reaches the settings that GM programmed for it.

I personally never liked those settings from day 1.....

Having owned an automatic transmission rebuilding business for 20+ years I knew what I wanted and expected

from the A6. The A6 trans was one of the first transmissions to successfully employ the LEARNING

in a way that actually worked and was adjustable for a guy like myself to instruct it to LEARN the WAY I WANTED IT TO LEARN

instead of what the manufacturer told it.

I like my instructions better.

Having built and calibrated 1,000s of Hydraulically controlled transmissions with shift kits,

vac modulators, throttle valves, and governors..... This A6 tuning stuff was SUPER EASY for me.

Rarely if ever do I get a complaint on my A6 tune and U've clearly done way more than any tuner out there with vettes, cars,

g8s, caddys, trucks, etc......

Trust me... I know my A6..... And If you've got a problem or dislike with your trans......

I guarantee I didn't like the same thing and I likely fixed it several years ago.

Call me any time if you have questions.

I understand adaptive shifts, didn't even think about that with the vette. I have rebuilt Allisons and reprogramed Allisons World transmissions for years but that has been heavy trucks. I do not have any GM software programs that I can use with the vette, and I don't plan to buy any. I understand how easy it is to cause more problems if you do not have plenty of experience.
The 6 speed autos seem to hunt for the right gear more than a 4 speed. Could just imagine what an 8 speed would be like in everyday traffic.
A While an engine/transmission tune sounds like it would certainly help a few things, I have only had the car a few weeks and I really have no set plan right now as far as mods.

Last night I drove the car with the paddles while in traffic. Holding a gear and downshifting to a redlight is just like my Z06. Good exhaust sounds.
Question; Sometimes while coasting down to a redlight, the transmission downshifts early into 2nd and 1st causing rpm's to increase (adds a nice little exhaust rumble) and gives a little engine braking. This is while in drive mode on flat ground, closed throttle and light braking. I've noticed this when pulling off the interstate with light braking to a stoplight. It doesn't happen often but it will get your attention when you hear the exhaust rumble and feel early 3-2 and 2-1 downshifts. Usually it's like every other automatic in the market, close throtle, light braking in convertor phase to a stop and and you feel no downshifts. Any one else notice this with the A6?

This happens to me when in S mode but don't remember it happening in D mode.
