I am installing the Eagle eye tail lights and one of the screw holders fell inside. I got down underneath and saw a lot of white wax on the black valance/diffuser. I would like to take off the black piece and look for the screw and clean the wax off. Is it hard to get the valance off? Are there instructions? 2008 base C6
same thing happened to me during my install just keep taping the diffuser till it bounce's out, to get the white wax off use mother's back to black might take more than once, good luck.
If it fell down onto the rear diffuser, you can loosen it up by removing a few plastic retainers underneath. Then you can vibrate/shake the bottom of the diffuser and the clip will bounce out eventually. Ask me how I know this.
If it is stuck somewhere up higher and never made it to the diffuser then you'll need to go to Home Depot and see if they have any #6-32 "U" clips.
I just ordered some off of the internet from Home Depot to have some spares, just in case. I think they were $.32 for a pair of them.
My wife suggested to use the new master blaster we got. I stuck it in the tail light hole and it blew the piece on the floor. That was great. When I went to get the screw to attach to the clip, it was gone. Probably from the high pressure when I pulled the thing out of the hole. This is not my day!!!! Where can I get a torque 15 screw for the tail light???
