Hey no problem for me, I fully understand! I still really doubt it can be the shifter but anything's possible. Is it hard to move with the engine off just going back and forth in the same gears? The trans fluid change will help no matter, at least it did in my 08 Z06 and it was new. I would use the GM recommended fluid in the differential, it has the needed additives. Let us know how it turns out.

Videos to help you get to shifter and even pulling it/the box so clean and relube the parts if needed.

When you reinstall the shifter and box, make sure to index is correctly.

From there, change the oil in the trans to a great synthetic oil, and maybe even the anti venom shim mod to the transmission indexer if the problem is more of a notchy problem instead.

The diff fluid is just a matter of LS dust off the discs that contaminates it.

So either,
DEXRON® LS gear oil, P/N 88862624
Redline GL-5
Royal Purple Max Gear.
Which all of these has the needed LS modifiers in them.

All of these will work fine, and its more of a matter of fluid changes before the LS clutch pad dust builds up to the point of causing the LS to no longer lock and unlock smoothly; which cause the popping noise of the LS locking and unlocking.
