C6 Headers
I'm looking to get a set of headers but not interested in spending over $1000. Has anyone ran the OBX headers off eBay?? If so are they any good or are they junk? Any other recommendations on where to look for a good deal?

A ton of people have run them, and most say they are good. You will more than likely get a lot of responses saying they are "Chinese crap" from people who don't have them. I was going to order a set but found a killer deal on a set of "newsed" B&B headers instead.

I've read more posts on here by people that have had good luck with them than I have about people having had trouble. I ordered a used set of them myself.
Some people have had trouble with the flanges not being flat but so have others with $2k headers. If it isn't too bad you can get a gasket that will correct it or you can have it milled down to flat.
Be careful though, OBX doesn't make a kit for 09+ base or GS, and I'm on mobile so I can't check your profile to see what you have.

OBX is indeed cheap chinese crap but it will bolt up and play. It won't last is the difference from everything I have been told. I got a hell of a deal on some LG street long tubes, X-pipe and h/f cats and have always been happy.

Links for obx not lasting? I'd like this info before I buy as well, but I have not seen much negative (I have seen a lot of hate from people that don't like them not being made in USA-I don't care where my headers are made. I'm buying them from and American store that's about all I can do :-). )
My obx exhaust for my fx35 has lasted no issues and I don't know anyone that have had header or exhausts from obx fail. They were pretty popular with the 350z crowd

I'm interested in this "doesn't last" comment as well. It runs the same danger of a weld breaking or something as anything else, but they are stainless just like the rest.

OBX are as good as anything out there.have run mine for 3 years with no issues.picked up 65 rwhp with them and Fast 102 intake.your choice $800. or $2000. +

Headers and Fast 102 intake gave you 65 rwhp alone? That seems pretty generous what were your supporting mods if any? I have vararam intake magnaflow and diablo predator tuner on a ls2 what would headers alone do for me? I'm planning on Fast 102 after headers.

You'll pick uo 35-40 with headers and tune + 20-25 with a FAST. Pretty standard.

I never ran OBX headers but a guy who I used to hang out with and run our cars had an issue with the welds either where they directly bolt up or around the collectors; I cannot recall exactly where but that is just his experience. His response was "Well, what do you want for $800 bucks?" and if they went 2-3 years he was okay with it. FWIW I did not feel like dropping almost 2 large in Kook's again so I found the LG headers and LG everything going back for $1200 so I am too happy to have done so. Nice guys to talk to at that regarding customer service and just talking to you like a normal person.

yes 65 rwhp with catted OBX and ported Fast 102 on an auto car.supporting mods in my profile.65 rwhp gain with these 2 mods only and no additional tuning.with your mild mods I would hope you may see a 25 hp gain on an LS2.I never dynoed one with headers alone.dont do the Fast without porting it.have seen them pick up 27rwhp and 33rwt on LS2.All welds on mine are perfect looking and flanges are machine level straight.

dude...you have a cammed vette...I looked at your "supporting" mods and noone looks at a cam as a "supporting mod." Now I believe with all you have done you have gotten an extra 65 ponies but every other person posting here was basing their statements on a bolt-on car only.
