I live near a Costco store and I walked into the tire department to ask about a set of tires for my SUV yesterday and I also planned to ask about my C6 GS tires. There were 3 people ahead of me and no sales person in sight to ask questions. I waited a few minutes and no body came to the front to help the waiting customers. I left and I didn't find out anything about either of my vehicles. I can't say if they can put tires on a C6 or not, but I do know they are the cheapest, maybe not the best service, but good prices. Why don't you give them a call and maybe you'll have better luck than I did and if you find out please post in this thread. Hopefully someone who knows will post in your thread about Costco tire department and let us know. I wasn't impressed yesterday and usually when a business has so many customers the service falls off since they can afford to lose a customer or two and they never miss them. I like to deal with a place that cares about you and satisfying your needs.
If I was ready to put tires on my C6 GS I would buy Michelin Run Flat tires, I don't know the model number off hand, but the tire store will. Since you are a female I'd highly recommend you buying Run Flat tires in case you get a puncture on the road. You can drive the car to a repair shop or home (at a slower speed) without air and either get your tire repaired or replaced.
Michelin tires are one of the more expensive tires for your car, but I have read a lot about tires on the forum and I've never read a complaint about Michelin tires on Corvettes. GM has switched from Goodyear to Michelin on the new C7 Corvettes and that should tell you something. If cost is a factor there are other good tire brands that will be fine on your car. Bridgestone, Hankook, Firestone are just a few I've read about on the forum with good reports. Again I highly recommend Run Flat tires in your case!
Hi Annie...can't go wrong with Michelin. I have never used Costco for tires so I can't help you there. If you have a Discount Tire nearby check them out. They have pretty good prices and I have seen Vettes in there getting tires installed.
Good luck.
Anne you should be OK with Costco. It's the tech doing the work you need to worry about. Make sure they put the left sides on the left and the rights on the right or they'll have to reinitialize the TPMS's and the 18's on front and 19's on back or the nannies will think the rear tires are spinning.
Anne I'd recommend using Tirerack to get your tire information and learning about the different ratings on tires and reviews. What ever tire shop you use their almost certainly going to have to order them. Tire rack even gives a list of tire installers that they recommend in your area if you should order online.
Anne I'd recommend the Firestone Wide Ovals RFT's (run flat technology) if you need run flats. For a run flats you can't beat the price.
I used COSTCO on my C5 Corvette with great results. I watched the entire install and saw how careful they were with the wheels, TPMS and all. Perfect installation. FYI, the tires were Michelin PS AS Runflats..
I actually just ordered a pair of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 all season tires. They've quoted me around 1200 through Costco, I have the executive membership so 2% cash back it awesome. As far as run flats go I've gone to discount tire, tire kingdom, firestone all the techs told me run flats are worthless.
Anne, you can use www.tirerack.com for the brand of tires that will fit, and reviews on the tires from Corvette owners. You have to sift through the reviews, but it's not that difficult. After much consideration I am going to the non run flats for the quietness, and comfort of the tires. I have closed in on several, Bridgestone Potenza, Hankook Ventus, and the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval. I will carry a tire repair kit, along with a portable pump just in case. I've found buying tires for a Corvette is as hard as deciding on which Corvette to buy.
Disclaimer: I have never dealt with Tire Rack. I just using them for information on the tires.

The front tires are P245/40ZR18
The rear are are P245285/35ZR19 The tires were original, dry and had 4/32 to 3/32 variations.
Any recommendations on which to price tires, and approximate cost?
Don't laugh but does anyone use COSTCO for tires or do they have the wrong kind of lift etc??
Thanks Anne
I don't know what you know about cars, nor do I know how much you want to know about cars...but:
You will get all kinds of run flats/non run flats, noisy tires/quiet tires, good traction/bad traction, etc., info here.
Try Discount Tire. A lot of folks on the forum use them with good luck (including me). Just go talk to them, tell them what you have, how you plan to drive, and let them give you some options.
I would strongly suggest a quality 4-way alignment (perhaps your Chevy dealer) and request alignment specs for the base car, not a Z51 equipped car. Your tires will thank you for that.
And join AAA...your dad will rest easier. I know, I have it for my daughter.

and will add, find out how to inflate a conventional tire (with the Slime and compressor via the cig lighter), if you go this route.
