Here's the strange thing: The previous owners of my '05 coupe contacted me to say they got the recall letter for my car. I call the local Chevrolet dealer and they tell me that there wasn't any recalls against my VIN. I go to GM's web site (to the place you can type in your VIN and see if there are any recalls on it) and it said no recall.
I called the GM recall help line and the operator said it wasn't coming up on her screen but she did change the information so that future communication comes to my house. She did say replacement parts weren't available yet and that a second letter would be sent out informing that parts were available. I need to get the letter from the previous owner!

Do they send letters out by model year, i.e. 05's first then o6's?
I have an 07 and no letter yet.

Retired & lovin' it!
Hmmm.....I just went onto the GM Recall website & entered the VIN for my '05. Came up "no recall". Fortunately haven't had any low beam headlight problem, but the situation sure is confusing.

Just over 36K. I'm dealing with this issue myself, I'll be watching my mail box… This is good news to me… I only (noticed)started having the problem a couple weeks ago. The service manager at a local dealer told me then, "There's no recall for your car, I ran your vin number. But if you bring it in for $165/ hr we'll check it out for you…?" I've read elsewhere that this has been known issue as far back as 2011! So far no letter, fingers crossed. I can't speak for others but this is what causes a love/ hate relationship with these cars and the service we sometimes get from dealers...

I received my recall for the '05 on Saturday also. When my wife saw it said "recall" on the envelope she assumed it was for my C7, as I always get hassled for buying first generation models. I've experienced no problems and am curious about the fix. How involved is it? I replaced a turn signal bulb a year ago and that was not hard to figure out but a bit tedious to execute. Does the jumper wire attach in an accessible location under the hood or is it in the wheelwell? I guess I haven't really looked-maybe it's obvious.

Anyone getting thses letter running their VINS in the GM recall site? Seems many are not finding their cars listed as needing the recall.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured March 29, 2004, through June 22, 2007. In the affected vehicles, the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC) housing can expand and cause the headlamp low beam relay control circuit wire to bend. If the wire is repeatedly bent, it may fracture causing a loss of low beam headlamp illumination.
Wouldn't this mean ALL 2005s and 2006s at the least?
