Default 2005 A/C Controller Going Crazy?

Anybody have this problem. 2005 Corvette the A/C controller will work ok and then the display will start blinking. The number will blink, you can't change the temp or the fan speed. Shut the car off and restart it and it is normal again. Also sometime when you start it nothing displays and turning the ***** doesn't work. Once it was set on both sides at 65 and the display worked and the air cond stopped. I shut the car off and restarted it and it worked fine.

Do you think the A/C controller head is bad?

ours does the same thing, we have found that pushing both buttons at the same time turns it on and works like it should , regarding the post about replacing the unit , does it have to be reprogrammed ?

I had that problem occur on my 05 last fall a few times before I put it away for the winter, but since bringing it out it hasn't done it again and I've driven it quite a lot too. So I'm hoping I can get a few years out of it before the head unit needs to be done. I had to replace one AC head unit in my C5 (before I knew about the easy fix posted here) due to the display going dim, and it wasn't cheap.
