Any tips on how to get into your C6 when the battery is dead and the key is in the console? Beside having a new key make.

There are lots of tips but the easiest way is to have a new key made. Take proof of ownership and the vin to the dealer and they can make one. You should have a spare anyway for cases like this.

Another way is to hook jumpers to the starter to charge the batt.
And stupid questions...you tried the hatch button by the license plate...and you do not have a second fob?

use the 2nd fob to open the door and/or take the key out of it and open the hatch. Other than that, just break the window.

I'd have to assume there is no second fob or that would have been the solution. I'd certainly find a ride to the dealer before I ever thought about smashing out a window.

With the FOB so small....why does it ever leave your pocket? You dont need to unlock the doors or lock the doors with the FOB...if you set up that way. Walk up to the car squeeze the door handle ....jump in .....foot on the brake finger on the go fast start button. When your done driving around looking for on ramps and back roads get out of the car and walk away. For the dead battery part.....remove the key in the FOB have a blank cut (think its a Saturn key). I just have the all steel key no black plastic in my wallet.

I agree. When I bought my '07Z it only came with the #2 FOB. I bought the newer ('08+) #1 FOB just so I could have the key inside of it. It never leaves my pocket when I'm out and about.
